Privacy Policy

Introduction

Anita ("Anita", "we", "our", or "us") helps you identify and automate repetitive work across the apps and tools you already use. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Anita application and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, you should not use the Services.

Data We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Anita app, and information from third-party services that you choose to connect.

Information you provide

  • Account information such as your name, email address, and authentication details.
  • Workspace and automation configuration, including workflows, rules, prompts, and settings you define.
  • Content you submit through the Services, such as feedback or support requests.

Information from connected apps and automations

When you connect third-party apps or services to Anita and configure automations, we may collect:

  • Data retrieved via those apps' APIs (for example, records such as tasks, tickets, deals, messages, calendar events, or similar objects).
  • Metadata about those records, such as IDs, timestamps, status, assignees, and relationships between objects.
  • Content from those records (such as titles, descriptions, or message bodies) where you have authorized Anita to access that content so automations can read, create, or update it.
  • Logs and diagnostic information about automation runs, including when an automation started, which connected apps it used, whether it succeeded, and related error information.

Anita only accesses and processes data from connected apps as needed to provide the automations and features you configure. You can control which apps are connected and can disconnect them at any time from within the Anita app.

Information from connected services and usage analytics

If you connect third-party tools (such as CRMs, task managers, or communication platforms), we access only the data necessary to provide the integration and automations you configure. This may include metadata about records, events, and activities, as well as content where you have explicitly authorized Anita to read or act on that data.

We also collect usage and analytics information about how you use the Services, such as pages viewed, features used, device and browser information, and diagnostic data, which helps us improve performance and reliability.

How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Anita app and related Services.
  • To analyze your browsing patterns and workflows in order to identify repetitive tasks and suggest automation opportunities.
  • To execute automations and actions that you configure or explicitly approve, including interactions with connected third-party tools.
  • To develop, train, and improve AI models and heuristics that help understand your tools and automate repetitive tasks, including by using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
  • To improve and personalize our Services and user experience.
  • To provide customer support, respond to your inquiries, and send important service-related communications.
  • To monitor for abuse, prevent fraud, and maintain the security and integrity of the Services.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we only process your personal data when we have a valid legal basis to do so, including:

  • Contractual necessity, to provide the Services you request and operate your account.
  • Legitimate interests, such as improving and securing the Services, provided that these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Consent, where required, for example for certain analytics, marketing, or connecting third-party services.
  • Legal obligations, where we are required to process data to comply with applicable laws.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. With third-party vendors that provide services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, database storage, logging, analytics, and email delivery, subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Connected services. With third-party tools and platforms that you choose to connect to Anita, in order to perform automations or actions you configure or approve.
  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Anita, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries that may have data protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data in connection with such transfers.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored in secure databases with encryption at rest and in transit. We regularly review our security practices to help ensure a high level of protection. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and comply with our legal obligations.

  • Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for backup, audit, and compliance purposes.
  • Data about your connected apps, automations, and workflow runs is retained for as long as it is needed to power automations, debugging, and product improvement, after which it may be deleted or de-identified.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us atprivacy@anitahq.com. We may retain certain information where required or permitted by law.
